John I would recommend that you start with IEC60721 Series and use that to define your environment and from that derive your test regime. That standard allows you to define the severity of each aspect of the environment rather than use a single generic definition that may not be completely accurate for your particular situation. You can thus take into account whatever environmental protection the equipment may have (or not). Best regards
