In reviewing standards as applicable to DC powered (battery) motors for use on boats, as I’m seeing it that applicable EMC directive standards to apply would be EN55012 and EN55014-2. EN55014-1 excludes devices used exclusively in vehicles. Another route to go would be in looking at EN61000-6 series for immunity. I think the emissions requirement is very straight forward. A long I/O or control line in addition to the DC power cables causes a pause for thought, but is easily tested and addressed in EN55014-2.
