While I do not believe that Mr Peruzzi is "asking too much", I am not
aware of much stuff above 800VA output that is 'off-the-shelf'.

Assuming that this is not a component power supply, and if you need a few
units for a specialty application, use a power source from
Chroma/Elgar/Agilent/CalInstr that is powered from an mains isolation
transformer that is rated for use with medical equipment.

If your quantity is reasonable so that you do not have to pay NRE, you can
talk to the sales dweebs at power supply companies that specialize in
custom power converters for ISM (for example, my employer).

Also, there are many consultants that can use the IC manufactures'
cook-book recipes to crank out a usable design in a few weeks.

Subject: [PSES] medical power supply unit

Hi all,
I'm looking for a power supply unit, input 100-240Vac, output 48Vdc, 1.5kW
or more, IEC/UL 60601-1 compliant, Input-output double/reinforced
insulation.
Am I asking too much?
The only one I've found so far is from Lambda, but it has only basic
insulation.
Could anybody point me to a manufacturer who I could ask for?

Thanks in advance,
Paolo
