Remark: if self-certified, products sold in the EU must comply with the
requirements of current harmonized EN standards.

Subject
IEC60950-1 version for replacement parts

Dear All,

1. An ITE product is sold in Europe and conforms to IEC60950-1 1st Edition
dated 2002.
2. The product is no longer manufactured. Units are either in service in the
EU or sitting on shelves ready to be deployed.
3. Spare parts such as power supplies have to be shipped to the EU to serve as
replacement parts.
4. Is it ok for the spare parts to comply with the older 1st edition of the
standard since the system was evaluated to the 1st edition of the
IEC60950-1standard or do they have to conform to the IEC60950-1 2nd edition
2005 version of the standard?

Thanks,

Peter Merguerian
