This may have been discussed in the dim, dark past, but here goes anyway.

I have two EMCO power line LISNs, model 3810/2. Both were built such that
the line and neutral sides were reversed internally. The LISNs are built
with the USA standard 3-wire (grounded) outlet on the front. The
orientation is with the ground connection facing down. This places the
neutral side on the left and the line side on the right when viewed from
the front. The power connector on the back is the familiar IEC 3-wire
connector. When oriented with the ground connection facing down, it too
has neutral on the left and line on the right. In order to keep neutral on
the left and line on the right as viewed from the FRONT, this connector
needs to be mounted with the ground connection facing UP. Both of my LISNs
came to me with the ground connection facing down, causing the reversal of
line and neutral.

The power connections need to be reversed at the IEC connector in order to
make the line and neutral match the markings on the Line1/Line 2 switch
for line and neutral (and also match the 3-wire power outlet). The easy
fix is to remove the top cover of the unit and use long nose pliers swap
the line and neutral connections on the IEC connector. The better fix is
to remove both covers in order to rotate the IEC power connector 180°.
This fix physically places all the neutral connections on the left (viewed
>from the front) and line connections on the right.
