The enquirer cited IEC 60950, and the definition form it. No threads.

The other standards are obsessed by threads but say nothing about not 
using cloth that has been stored, for example, under 90% humidity.

I find that steeping the cloth in saturated aqueous Na2B4O7 and drying 
it tends to make all the products pass the test. (;-)
