Sorry- that last post was intended for Mr. Woodgate, or, "the other John".
It was in response to his comment about 'FMJ' mice. It would have been better to have begun with: "Mr. Woodgate, perhaps you missed the point?"... From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of John Cochran Sent: Thursday, January 07, 2010 9:36 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [PSES] ESD Test Failure of Stainless USB Mouse Designing a mouse that is waterproof and has a metal shell definitely has its challenges. I would never expect a desktop computer to be tested with industrial peripherals, which many have metal enclosures. The strongest selling feature of the mouse is the stainless steel shell, which is perfect for use in pharmaceutical and food manufacturing. It is my company's responsibility to manufacture a product that can comply with the standards, even if it is used with a desktop computer inside the enclosure. True, but 'FMJ' mice are supplied with some industrial computers. - This message is from the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society emc-pstc discussion list.
