Betreff: Now published: "Guide to application of the Machinery Directive
2006/42/EC" (1st Edition, December 2009)

Colleagues,

Guide to application of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
(1st Edition, December 2009)

This is now available for download (since yesterday) from
http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/sectors/mechanical/machinery/
"It is intended to publish regular updates of the Guide in order to
introduce answers to questions agreed by the Machinery Committee and the
Machinery Working Group."

-- This edition does not yet cover annexes III to XI.
-- However, it does include Annex I and II.
-- Many readers will want to skip straight to Annex I, starting on page 138
of the PDF file. There is a lot of useful material there.

A few highlights:
-- Guide to the "new" requirements for mounting Fixed Guards: §218on page
198 of the PDF.

-- Guide to the new requirement that the Declaration of Conformity include
the "name and address of the person authorised to compile the technical
file, who must be established in the Community" : §383on page 329 of the PDF
