The IMs will be soon applicable in 2010. I have some queries and seeking
guidance.

IM 1275/2008 eco-design for off/standby mode power consumption

I have the following interpretation on a Clock radio and is there any
deviation from the requirements?

• Power consumption in off mode

Clock part is not applicable.

Radio part consumes ≤ 1.00 W.

• Power consumption in standby mode

Clock part is not applicable.

Radio part in sleep mode with an indicator consumes ≤ 1.00 W.

• Availability of off mode and/or standby mode

Clock is not applicable due to equipment is inappropriate for the intended use.
In addition, clock is not included in Annex 1 list of energy-using products.

Radio has an off mode and a sleep mode.

IM 107/2009 eco-design for SSTB

Auto power down - the SSTB shall be automatically switched from active mode
into standby after less than three hours in active mode following the last user
interaction and/or a channel change with an alert message two minutes before
going into standby mode. The user must react SSTB every three hours to
continue the use of SSTB.

IM 278/2009 eco-design for EPS

The battery charger is excluded according to the exception list in this IM.
Why is battery charger excluded in this IM? Is it due to low power
consumption? Normally, the battery charger also serves as the power supply of
the device, i.e., charger for mobile phone, portable DVD player, iPod, etc.
Does such charger fall into this IM?

IM 642/2009 eco-design for TV

Home mode – What is the main purpose for the introduction of the home mode?

Thanks and regards,
