All,

There will be a Northeast Product Safety Society / CNEC Product Safety
Engineering Society meeting today, September 23rd, at the Holiday Inn,
Boxborough MA. A social hour with light refreshments will begin at
7:00 PM and the technical meeting will start at 7:30 PM. Matt Cusson,
Siemens Application Engineer at Dittman & Greer, and Don Reid, Sales
Engineer for Dittman & Greer, will present this month’s topic concerning
the application of safety interlocks and switches and MSS products
demonstration and discussion. If you will be in the area, please feel
free to join us as advanced notice or membership in NPSS or IEEE PSES is
not required.

Matt Cusson is one of the Siemens Application Engineers on staff at
Dittman & Greer and is also the SICK Optics factory-trained product
specialist. He brings several years of prior experience in the safety
products industry to his experience in assisting with a variety of
automation and safety-related projects.

Don Reid was Executive Vice President of Hendricks Engineering Inc in
Indianapolis, IN prior to moving to CT to accept employment with Spirol
International Corporation as General Manager of the Automation Products
Division. Don has for the past 9 years been the Outside Sales Engineer
covering E. CT, RI, and the Boston Metro area for Dittman & Greer, Inc.

The presentation will include Siemen's "Safety the Movie", MSS products
demonstration and discussion, plus the application of safety interlocks
and switches. Time permitting, other demonstrations would include
additional safety-related products, including personnel safety,
security, and sensor intelligence.

If you or anyone you know would like to give a product safety technical
presentation, please contact Steve Brody by email at
[email protected]. A technical presentation should be 45 to 60
minutes in duration and be related to product safety. Although the
presentation may reference your company and it’s services, the
presentation must not be simply company advertising. We would also
appreciate any slides or handout materials be made available for posting
on the NPSS web site. Releasing presentation materials for posting is
desired but not a requirement to make a presentation.

The 2009 NPSS meeting schedule is available on the NPSS website at
http://www.nepss.net/calendar.html.
