Dear Members,

In the US, telecom manufacturers must meet TIA968 (FCC part 68) requirements.
In TIA968 there is a mechanical requirement for RJ (Registered Jack
Configurations) – TIA1096 (which evolved from the old USOC Bellcore
requirements). In TIA1096 there is a gold plating requirement for the contacts.

My question is... Does anyone know if there is a similar requirement for RJ
connectors for the rest of the world (i.e. ETSI, IDA, ACIF, PTC, etc.)? What do
RJ connectors have to comply with worldwide?

Thanks,

Peter Merguerian
