Information available on talks and speakers:

EMC - the next 15 years. Tim Williams has worked in electronic product design
in various industry sectors including process instrumentation and audio visual
control, with particular responsibility for EMC, and in 1990 he started Elmac
Services as an independent consultant. He is the author of “The Circuit
Designer’s Companion” (2nd edition, Elsevier 2004) and “EMC for Product
Designers” (presently in its fourth edition, Elsevier 2007), and has
presented numerous conference papers and seminars. He is also author of a
third book “EMC for Systems & Installations” with Keith Armstrong. Elmac
Services provides consultancy and training on all aspects of EMC, including
design, testing and the application of standards, to companies manufacturing
electronic products and concerned about EMC. http://www.elmac.co.uk/

Developments in Commercial EMC. A review of the CISPR and IEC standards
applicable to commercial equipment and how changing technology in commercial
products is channelling the current developments in standardization taking
place.
Stephen Colclough is a Senior Manager with Samsung Electronics, in charge of
their EMC laboratory in the UK. After graduating from Southampton University
he worked for Plessey Avionics on military radar and navigation projects
before moving into a commercial telecommunications role where he became
involved in EMC. For several years he has worked on international working
groups for CISPR and IEC TC 77 and is currently Secretary of CISPR.

Developments in Automotive EMC - this presentation will consider the
implications for automotive EMC of other technological developments such as
wireless communications, greater integration of vehicle electronics and the
moves towards greener cars.

Dr David Ward is Technical Manager for Advanced Electrical Engineering in
MIRA’s Advanced Engineering Department. He is active in consultancy and
technology development in a number of areas concerned with vehicle
electronics, related systems and functional safety, including EMC, embedded
software, communications systems and intelligent transportation systems.

Developments in Railway EMC. A high level overview of what's important with
respect to EMC and the rail industry and a discussion of relevant
developments. Richard Turner joined the Ministry of Defence in 1989 and has
been involved with EMC since 1991. He spent 17 years in the MOD working in
defence EMC, electromagnetic research programmes and systems integration. He
completed an MSc in EMC with the University of Hull in 1995. In 2006 he joined
Mott MacDonald Ltd. as a Principal EMC Engineer and manages EMC on a range of
heavy rail and light rail projects.

The event is an open meeting, with all welcome. There is no charge for
