Ken

Thanks for the offer to the community. Although I have already bought some
absorber in anticipation of the proposal in upcoming ANSI C63.4 for absorber
on the ground plane, this could be a good opportunity for someone else out
there who would like to try some experimentation on their site [provided the
absorbers meet the requirements].

Last I heard was that proposed requirements in the upcoming C63.4 are:

1) 2.4*2.4m absorber coverage for 3m site or proportional increase for
larger sites [gets to be about 8m or so for 10m site…] with minimum
attenuation of 20 dB to 18 GHz

2) Alternately – site compliant with 16-1-4:2007

Best regards,

Mac Elliott

Subject: Free 2'x2'x2' absorber cones

All,

I have about eighty 2'x2' absorber cones along with miscellaneous corner and
base pieces that I'm looking to give away. They are free provided that you
take them all and pick them up. I also have a fair amount of 3' styrofoam
absorber cones that can go with the other cones.
