Good People,

The context of this subject is that I am writing a REACH/RoHS/etc
questionnaire for my suppliers; and I am updating some of my Dec of Conformity
and TCFs. I have noted that marking requirements specified in 768/2008/EC
state:

"The presumption of conformity to a legal provision
conferred by conformity to a harmonised standard should
enhance recourse to compliance with harmonised standards."

and also says

"The CE marking should be the only marking of conformity
indicating that a product is in conformity with Community
harmonisation legislation. However, other markings may be
used as long as they contribute to the improvement of
consumer protection and are not covered by Community
harmonisation legislation."

Issues/Questions
1. RoHS #2 is a CE-marking directive. Conformity assessment will be based on
(as far as I can determine) non-existent standards.
2. Limits have yet to be established for the four additional substances.
3. Basis of additional marks that are required (WEEE, 'e', etc).

Comments ? Advice ? Maniacal laughter ?
