My research on-line seems to infer that Korea has initiated a new self-declaration system for some types of electrical products, as of Jan. 01/09. It seems as if Safety and EMI requirements are still based on the IEC/EN, and the CISPR standards, however the real meat and potatoes details for both the old and the new systems are shadowy, and hard to nail down. I am having some difficulty in getting solid replies to queries about the Korean compliance system. Have any of you been involved in either the previous or the new systems? Is it possible to obtain an explanation of the details of the safety program(eg. exemptions, special requirements, installation rules, etc.) in English?
