Mike: Based on Nov.4.2008 Official Journal, the effective date of EN 301 893 v1.4.1 plus v1.5.1 radar pulses is on Apr.1.2009.
Do you know when EU will issue the official journal to effect the delay of applying the v1.5.1 and v1.6.1 radar pulses to 5 GHz bands based on TCAM decision? Would it be before Mar.31.2009? Here are meeting minutes from the last TCAM gathering: Based on the input papers from EICTA/ETSI, and after a long and difficult debate, with several closed sessions (industry observers not allowed), TCAM 26 did at the end agree to revise the TCAM24 decisions as follows (summary): 1) The 1 April 2009 date for the Staggered PRF and 0,8 µSec detection across the band, has been moved to 1 July 2010 (15 months delay) 2) The 1 July 2010 date for the 0,5 uSec detection has been moved to 31 December 2012 (30 months delay) 3) After 1 April 2009, equipment need to implement additional measures: a) Staggered PRF detection across the bands (however industry indicated this would not be a problem) b) Equipment that want to operate in the weather radar band, need to implement the 0,8 µSec detection in that band and has to implement a solution for the noise calibration, HOWEVER the avoidance of the weather radar band is allowed.
