Ken:

I recently bought an MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) switching battery
charge controller (to match my solar panels to my batteries) from Blue Sky
Energy company. The device was marked UL & CE & FCC, and the documentation
described compliance to:

. UL STD 1741

. CAN/CSA STD E335-1/2E

. EN 61326-1:2006
EN 60335-1:2002 + A11:2004 + A1:2004
EN 60335-2-29:2004

. FCC Part 15 compliance is also stated, but they don't specify Part
A or B. (It must be RE only, since their device normally interfaces with a
solar panel array and a battery bank; thus, no direct connection to public
power networks.)

There also were references to ANSI/NFPA 70 and Article 690 of the NEC
regarding installation techniques. Interestingly, there were no references
to any USA vehicle standards. Blue Sky sells these into the vehicle,
residential and commercial markets.

Subject: [PSES] Pertinent EMC standards for battery management systems??

Hi Experts,

Any idea what the pertinent EMC standards would be for a vehicular battery
management system? Bicycle based battery management system? Solar panel
battery management system?

Thanks a bunch everyone!

Cheers, Ken
