Apologies as this isn't exactly regulatory compliance, but it is an
interesting electromagnetic emission event.

 

The ARRL and NASA have announced a public relations effort involving NASA's
Juno Jupiter mission spacecraft. On October 9th, the spacecraft will swing
past the Earth to pick up energy to move it on towards Jupiter. During the
close pass by Earth, NASA proposes that as many ham radio operators as
possible all transmit on specific frequencies in the ham-allocated 10-meter
(28 MHz) band. The Juno's wideband plasma wave detector suite should be able
to receive the combined "spectral disturbance," verifying their operation
and providing hams everywhere a unique opportunity to "transmit to" a
satellite. All hams are invited to participate.
