Clause 4 could be used, but IEC 61000-3-12 has to be applied instead of
61000-3-2; effectively the manufacturer has to give information on the
maximum supply impedance which permits connection. Some installers will
not understand this. A suitable low-impedance supply might not be
available.
My question to the group is, what do labs put in reports in this
situation ? Fails EN61000-3-2 or meets by route of Clause 4 ?
I would prefer to use clause 7 rather than clause 4. The report should
state that the equipment is professional and rated at 1.2 kW, so,
according to clause 7, no limits apply.
If clause 4 is applied then the equipment has to conform to 61000-3-12
and be reported as such.
