Only if it frequency sweeps down instead of or as well as the common up sweep. Intuitivily, one notices that this sweeps the fundamental freq as the leading signal and that the harmonics just follow along in the already swept regions. Any discovered problem will be due to the fudamental and not some unsuspected higher harmonic sneaking along ahead of an up sweeping generator.
