There is a suggestion that devices with an integral screen which use an
electronic CE Mark but are not supplied with charged batteries may
require a ‘peel off’ temporary label with a CE Mark on it, so that
the user can see the CE Mark before they charge it.
The CE mark is addressed to customs and market surveillance authorities,
and it is they who need the stick-on label. The CE mark is not addressed
to users. If it were, we should see Press ads telling the general public
to look for the mark before buying products.
