We have an audio product that comes with an external power supply. The
external power supply uses a detachable cordset. The cordset consists of a
2-pin 16A European Schuko plug, a cable of 0.75mm2 wires and a 10A kettle
connector. This cordset is capable of delivering 6A current according to the
cable in use. The unit consumes about 1A only.

There is a concern of cable overheating if the user uses this cordset for other
purpose according to the marking of the Schuko plug. Referring to other
similar cordsets, this issue almost happens on most of cordsets. It seems
there is no requirement in the current safety requirement looking after of it.
Is it unduly worried?

Scott
