Look at the Lego Technic line.  In the past they had a number of kits with plastic pnuematics.  I've used them in the past to build remote button pushers.

Pneumatic systems may be harder to find than electric systems. However, there are a few construction toys that use simple DC motors that shouldn’t cause significant interference with test results. Lego has a number of options with the Mindstorms system being the top of the line. It includes programmable controllers that will give you lots of options, but the controllers may cause interference with test results.

 

Another option is K’Nex. The construction is a bit easier than Lego, although there aren’t programmable controls. However, I have seen “mouse movers” built out of K’Nex. The device was built to constantly move a computer mouse around on a surface for radiated immunity testing. It wouldn’t be too hard to add a rod with cams that actuated the buttons on the mouse. A K’Nex system for a keyboard may be more of a challenge.

I am looking to make up a simple  pneumatic system to press a couple of keys on a keyboard and move a mouse.

 

Has anyone made up such a kit ?

 

Some years ago I looked at this and there seemed to be lots around, now searching on Google I can’t find any,  or my search parameters are wrong.

 

Any input gratefully received.
