ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Partner with project managers for delivery of best-in-class GPS navigation, wearable tech, fitness products, wireless video, radar and driving recorder platforms and connected services using HD Radio, Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi. * For major product development programs, creates and implements complex regulatory compliance plans. * Must possess experience in providing the compliance direction and taking the lead on regulatory input during the product design process. * Contribute to advanced regulatory and standards research on new technologies, markets and geographic regions. * Create and execute recovery plans as needed, displaying excellence in project management (identifying critical milestones, gating items and priorities, determining deadlines for deliverables on critical path, and communicating to cross-functional team members). * Identify compliance related risks, effectively communicates the threat and suggests best means for avoiding or reducing the risk. * Lead compliance and safety design review meetings. * Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced Compliance Engineers. * Effectively communicate the dependencies of other departments' deliverables on our project milestones and vice versa. * Independently determine general approach and specific solutions to compliance problems. * Offer excellent suggestions to improve processes and author some new procedures with oversight. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or another relevant field from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience * Experience with ESD, EMC, EMI, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi and product safety testing and country certifications or homologations. * Understand production and operations issues as they relate to compliance engineering. * Experience reviewing EMC and safety design aspects for circuit design and PCB layout. * Ability to explain and document regulatory and standards requirements. * Ability to constructively critique compliance plans written by teammates. * Demonstrates proficiency in and can communicate advanced concepts such as LPS (limited power source), limited current circuit, single fault condition, insulation systems, CTI, etc. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * iNARTE certification in EMC and/or Product Safety. * IEC 60601 or ISO 13485 experience * SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) approvals experience * Past participation on a standards-writing committee. * NFPA membership and/or contributions to the NEC. * Previous work experience with circuit design for consumer or aviation products. ________________________________ CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This email and any attachments are for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and contain information that may be confidential and/or legally privileged.
