Brent,Many thanks on your feedback!Good to know that not many filings include
spherical data but a little surprised since the technology has been around for
some time. The antenna in question is in 800MHz band, external monopole for a
wall mount consumer device. The device will also include internal dual band (2.4
+ 5GHz) WiFi antenna.I see IEEE 149-1977 standard test procedures for antennas
which was reaffirmed in 2008. Do you know if this includes gain measurement
procedures that would be applicable to 800MHz band and WiFi?
Regards,Stephen

{}#yiv7121602957 I forgot to say that, depending on the frequency (higher is
worse) it’s almost impossible to know what the maximum antenna gain you will
find in a full spherical is versus three orthogonal cuts. In my products I’ve
seen 7dB difference at 5 GHz of an antenna in a product. It’s also worth
noting that there are _very_ few submittals I’ve seen that include spherical
pattern data. The three axis palanr measurements are much more common. Sorry
for the list pollution of two posts back to back! Brent DeWit From: Stephen

Subject: [PSES] Antenna gain measurement standard Greetings,Does anyone know
which standard is used for measuring antenna gain? Are 3D antenna gain
measurements typically different than 2D with regards to peak gain? If so,
what's typical delta, 0.5dB or less? Regards,Stephen-
