The FAA allows Bluetooth throughout the duration of a flight. See the following press release from 2013. http://www.faa.gov/news/press_releases/news_story.cfm?newsid=15254
Individual airlines can place stricter requirements on the operation of wireless devices if they choose, but I doubt many would consider BLE hearing aids to be an issue. In addition, the FAA rules only apply to flights within the FAA’s jurisdiction. I can make no statement for flights outside of the United States. Does he need to turn them off during airplane travel? The FAA has given airlines permission to allow wireless. So does it depend? Or does the power level impact it? How about other countries? Thanks!
