60 years ago in Livermore, a classmate invited me to come out to his Dad's ranch and we could explore while Pop was out. This consisted mainly in getting hold of some of his father's black powder, a short piece of iron pipe with threaded ends and caps, a drill press, a blasting cap... and an anthill.
