Subject: RE: Authorised Representative

John

Annex II of the machinery directive requires

The EC declaration of conformity must contain the following particulars:

1. ...

2. name and address of the person authorised to compile the technical file, who
must be established in the Community;

3. .....

That may or may not be the manufacturer, but they must be in the EU. That's not
the same thing as an "authorised representative" which is optional for the
Machinery (and many other) Directive(s).

Regards

Charlie

Subject: [PSES] Authorised Representative

Hi,

I always thought an Authorized Representative was required for Machinery but
option for other Directives. I searched Machinery and LVD and only see
manufacturer "or" authorised representative.

If I'm wrong please point me to the particular section of the Directive.

Thanks,

John
