I note that the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EU references the old version of the LVD 73/23/EEC. The latest LVD is 2014/35/EU. I'm assuming that one should be using the latest version and not the oldest one! My main question is: What is the mechanism by which references to superseded directives are ignored and the latest versions used instead?
