Greetings all, In the past I've needed to produce three phase 50 Hz power to do safety, EMC testing as well as certain validation tests. I've used several methods including gas powered generators, electric motor-generators with different sized pulleys and of course AC Power Sources. Once again, I am faced with this need and must make a choice as to which route to follow. As for budgetary, rental is preferred over purchase and I am working in the 50 to 100 KVA range. I d need variable frequency as well as voltage adjustment for high and low line. I have a small collection of transformers to help with large voltage changes. Although I've never done it, I am also aware that it is possible to configure motor-generators with direct drive shafts and select the number of poles and RPM to change output frequency.
My question is what method are most folks in this forum using when it comes to 50 Hz higher power levels? Thanks!
