Having done field labelling and listings for an NRTL, I would ask your Customer what they need. It could be an internal company requirement for NRTL listing or field labelling. Not necessarily the local jurisdiction requiring it. However, if you really want to know what is locally required, call the local electrical inspection department and ask them.

Lauren, If the product is NRTL certified, there should be no need to have the product Field labeled. If it is an electrical product used in the workplace, you almost certainly need to have the product NRTL certified as that is a Federal requirement (there are alternatives to NRTL certification, but they apply only to custom made equipment and equipment that no NRTL can certify. Hello All, I am looking for a consolidated resource indicating which US cities/states require "field certification" (a.k.a. "field labeling") for industrial machinery (e.g., to NFPA 79 / UL 1010). Some cities have this information prominently on websites, others do not. I am particularly interested in the city of Albuquerque, but so far, no luck.
