Standard technique is to use a bandstop or notch filter at the transmit
frequency, with just enough attenuation to make sure the filter doesn¹t
damage the transmitter output via reflected power. Using an appropriate
bandstop filter and 10 dB attenuation to avoid that allows enough
sensitivity to measure 80 dB down from the transmitter output.

Subject: [PSES] CE106 Test set-up info [General Use]

Hi all.

Can anyone help with this query?
Doing a CE106 test, have had to insert 60dB attenuation (40dB + 20dB) in the
antenna output to help prevent the receiver input overloading.
These values incorporated into the measurement software.
Also have had to include a Hi Pass Filter 780MHz to 3000MHz to cover some of
the transmit frequencies.
The attenuation can be compensated for in the software but without Auto
Range On the receiver goes into over load when the transmit frequency is
reached.
With Auto Range on the measurement recovers but if the external attenuation
is reduced to attenuation remains increase for the remaining duration of the
sweep.
Software used is EMC32.
Is there anything that I am missing or is there a better way to set this
test up?

Regards
Andy
