Hi Charilie,

I believe 6,4W is maximum power on output of the battery (electronically 
protected) and therefore your supplied product does not need a fire enclosure. 
However internally inside the battery you have high energy and lithium battery 
is considered as a source of fire, therefore fire enclosure for the battery is 
required. Many manufacturers consider outer tape around battery, that's meet 
min. V-1, as fire enclosure.

I'm testing a very small device that is powered by an external 3.7V, 210 mAh 
Lithium Polymer battery - the device is smaller than the battery so the battery 
is external to the product and I'm still getting my head around this standard.

The device is sold B2B for very specialist applications and all users would be 
Instructed Persons

The battery output is limited to < 6.4W under all load conditions inc. short, 
so meets ES1/PS1 - does the battery need its own enclosure to meet Annex M4.4, 
or would IEC62133 compliance be sufficient?
