There is no grandfathering under CE marking as standards are only every optional (though that's a narrow technicality to sit on for some directives) Market enforcement and customers expect Harmonised Standards to be applied, and that's the recommended approach. Depending on the product, and how it was configured and monitored when tested against EN 55024, you may find that only partial re-testing is required.
