Hi All, Wireless compliance testing is not really my specialty, so putting this out to the group…
I have a client that manufactures a data recorder (basically, a non-intensional radiator), but with an FCC-approved cellular modem from Sierra. I believe there’s an option to connect Wi-Fi, but that’s not enabled on the current model. The product is designed to plug into the under-dash I/O connector on automobiles for engineering analysis purposes. For U.S. sales: I know FCC has an exemption for T&M products (47 CFR 15.103(a)). Besides CTIA testing for TIP and TIS, what other compliance testing might be required? For EU sales: The product would fall under IEC/EN 61326 for general EMC. What wireless/cellular compliance testing might be required in addition? ETSI compliance, etc.? Thank you, Ken _______________________ I'm here to help you succeed!
