I would find a way to keep the ground conductor connected but maybe consider ground studs at opposite corners so it has little slack when closed but allows the panel to be set aside without disconnecting the ground. In my experience it is risky to design a system where the ground is routinely disconnected. If you need to design it that way, I recommend using a braided gasket that is partially compressed when the panel is installed. You'll need the panel and gasket plated so that there is no corrosion that would increase the contact resistance since this arrangement can't be considered gas-tight.
