When you say "legally requiring" - what product or process are you considering.

In UK and Europe, Directives and Regulations are mandatory for products but
standards are not "mandatory" (though often highly useful / recommended).

Subject: [PSES] Does anybody have a defined list of countries requiring
Functional Safety (IEC 61508)?

All,
I am looking for a good list of ALL countries legally requiring Functional
Safety (IEC 61508) or equivalent. (ISO 26262, ISO 25119, etc.)

I am aware it is required for CE Mark in European Countries, as well as the
UKCA mark for UK.
My guess is other countries require it as well for compliance to equivalent
internal standards such as AS/NZS 61508, or GSO 61508
So that is the following:
Europe (CE Mark Countries)
Australia,
New Zealand,
UK/Northern Ireland,
Bahrain,
Kuwait,
Oman,
Qatar,
Saudi Arabia,
United Arab Emirates.

What other countries am I missing here?

Thanks,
David
