Hi Amund,

what is the application of PSU?

For example, power supply for data centre falls under UL/CSA 62368-1.

Best regards,
Boštjan

Subject: [PSES] Power supply AC/DC approval for Canada

Hi folks

It’s been a while since I last worked with Canadian approvals for AC/DC power
supplies, so I’d appreciate an update on the current requirements.

For an AC/DC power supply intended for use in Canada, what are the current
applicable requirements/standards for:

  *   Safety
  *   EMC / emissions
  *   EMC immunity, if applicable

Is CSA C22.2 No. 62368-1 still the relevant safety standard for this type of
PSU, and what are the current EMC requirements?

Also, is any specific Canadian certification/approval required for the PSU
itself (e.g. CSA, cUL/UL certification/recognition), or can compliance be based
on test reports/CB documentation?

The PSU will be installed as a component in a larger product intended for the
Canadian market.

Thanks for any guidance or recent experience.

PS: The ACDC supply shall finally feed a radio equipment (fix installation).

Best regards Amund
