Hello,

I just completed a retrofit and when running emc I am measuring almost .06
in backlash with all three axis.
The system is a 5Tpi ball screw, 2:1 reduction to a DC servo, 500 line bdi
encoder, and Rutex 2010 drives. I have emc set for step and direction
control.
When I manually rotate the ball screw two turns clockwise and then two
turns counterclockwise I return within .007 of where I should. This
little backlash might be 20 year old ballscrew, or my less then exact
manual rotation. This would suggest to me that the screw is not the
problem.
This is the exact hardware and configuration that I set the machines
sibling with and it runs like a champ. Any ideas on what can be causing
this problem?
