Why would you do that?  For compatibility with software step
versions?  If you want to keep it that way, I can't be of much help.
That's why there are 16 digital inputs, so you can have separate ones
for each axis.

The pattern repeats, so you have :

home
- limit
+ limit
axis fault (not used)

for each axis.  So, the A axis home switch should be connected to input #12,
on terminal block P5.

I will put the latest version of the configs files on my web site 
tonight.  They
will be http://pico-systems.com/codes/univstep, and you would copy the whole
directory to .../emc2/configs/your_univstep or some similar distinct name.

This includes the use of the new e-stop HAL component that frees up digital
input 14, as well as preventing the system from coming out of E-stop except
through manual action.
