PostScript dates to 1984, see

Without insane gyrations, though, PostScript has no innate facility for 
handling
3D.  But, confusing programming languages like C or PostScript with 
languages
specifically designed for expressing SOMETHING in 2D or 3D coordinates such
as RS-274D or stl is going to muddy the waters.  Clearly, you could bury the
G-code entirely, and just program what you want in C, Pascal, FORTRAN or
BASIC (URRRppp, sorry!)  There's also NURBS, if you really want 
everything in
free-flowing surfaces.
