The CD-burner can just about always read what it wrote, but other computers sometimes can't. Did you use a CD-RW or a CD-R? Sometimes the CD-R is more easily readable on ordinary drives than a CD-RW. It may be that your CD reader may need cleaning. One possibility is to pull the CD-RW drive out of the system you did the burning on, and temporarily put it into the machine you are trying to put EMC onto. I know that is a pain! I have a number of flaky CD readers here, too. Sometimes I can bring them back to life by opening them up and cleaning the optics, but it is pretty intricate, and not for those who have a problem with microscopic screws, etc.
