I tried saving my ini, hal, and source files on my thumbdrive to review
whenever I got a chance but I haven't been able to read them on a windows PC.
Do I need to mount a dos file system or something?
Also, I just got my Mesa 5i20 board installed, connected a spare encoder, and
got it to run. Since I didn't have the 5i20 board before, I haven't been able
to play with the servo, encoder configurations until now. I changed my input
scale to 10,000 so I can display encoder counts. I changed the display to axis
and added LATHE = 1, since this is for a lathe. I looked at my command signal
while moving the encoder to see the output respond to the changes. I then
changed the P setting and saw the changes in the output. Basically I'm feeling
pretty confident about being able to get this thing going!
The control I'm replacing is an Anilam Crusader M LatheMate. I'm wiring to the
existing connectors and wiring as much as practical. If by some miracle I am
able to get the Anilam control to work before I get the EMC2 control wired in,
I'll use the EMC2 system for my mill. I think the mill would benefit more from
EMC2 than the lathe will. Anyway, if things go as I hope, I'll replace both
controls with EMC2 and sell the old controls on eBay!
Just wanted to say thanks to all for the time and effort you put in to make EMC
what it is and the support you give.
Thanks!
Roger Neal
