Please (please!) let's not have a long thread about everyone's favorite editor. There are LOTS of them available as packages. In synaptic when I search for "text editor" I get 187 matches. I don't think any of them have any specific support for G Code (but I may be wrong) and other than that, this isn't an emc-specific topic and more advice/help could be found elsewhere. I bet there are even special mailing lists just for debating whether emacs or vi is better!
