I know the feeling, Kirk.  Yes there are tool change pins in iocontrol and in 
halui.  The iocontrol pins would be equivalent to the ones that I used under 
tkio in the BDI to setup a lathe tool turret.  Those pins exist in most any 
configuration.

If you modify an ini to bring up halui.  Add the line.

[HALUI = halui]

Now go back and start up emc2 using that config and look over the available 
pins and you'll see a bunch.  I use halshow to look around in HAL but you could 
use the halcmd stuff as well.

Connecting a tool changer is not a trivial task.  You first need to define all 
of the actions required for a change.  What does tool prepare do.  Lay out each 
step in the sequence.  What does tool change do in addition to prep.  If this 
is the HNC lathe, you could ask matt for my tkio file and see the sequence 
there under tool change.
