Hello,
After reviewing everyones input, for which I am extremely appreciative, I came
to the conclusion that if the spindle feedback was an encoder, it was a style
which I could not read. Not wanting to replace the unit, for fears of having
to fab up yet another adapter, I took a chance and removed the encoder cover
hoping that perhaps I could gleam some bit of knowledge or build an encoder
within the old frame. To my surprise I saw a nice plastic disk with optical
gates and a circuit board, attached to the circuit board was 5 wires. The rest
of the wires in the loom were simply sniped and left wild. It was an easy task
to identify the power cables, the ground went to a screw and the power went to
a trace that was about a quarter inch wide.
Perhaps this is why Hardinge/Bandit cost so much half the wires go nowhere and
and there to confuse you. Mission Accomplished.
Thanks,
Richard
