Hi, You should try the "continuos mode" using G64 P- in the g-code program. With the parameter P you can specify (optionally) a requested tolerance. The NIST specification says:
"In continuous mode, sharp corners of the path may be rounded slightly so that the feed rate may be kept up" So I think this is what you need. I'm also modifying the EMC2 source code in order to let it accept a new G-code that defines nurbs curves on plane. Those will be approximated by biarcs, as suggested first by Jeff Epler. Biarcs are couple of tangent arcs. Each biarc is tangent to the following, this results in a curve with continuous tangent, allowing a high feedrate than small segments.
