These Molex-type connectors are pretty awful, and if you have connected and disconnected the power connector a bunch of times while getting set up, it may not be making good contact any more. It may be possible to VERY gently squeeze the female contact to grip the pin better. Possibly more current draw would keep the connection solid, but then you have something getting hot. Fixing the connector would be the best choice. Also, check the soldering of the connector on the opto board, and the crimping of the wires in the PSU cable.
