I used thin polypropylene sheet, 0.39mm thick.  I got it from
my local art supply store.  It needs to be scored for it to 
fold properly, but if done accurately, it seems to work fine.
Polypropylene is supposed to have great "hinge" characteristics.
Mine is still a prototype and hasn't been used much.

I folded based on the information in patent number #6054194.
