Gentlemen,
When starting in the middle of a program on my Cincinnati control
and (I think) Haas controls the controls process the program as if the
machine was running. This sets the state of everything as if you ran
the machine to that postition and pushed feed hold. When you push
cycle start the machine starts as if you are restarting from feed
hold. The spindle starts at the correct speed.
One gotcha in this is if you are not in the correct position. You
should have positioned the machine in a safe start position and start
the machine carefully. The first move will correct the machine
position to the start point in the program.
Another gotcha is tool number. If the spindle doesn't have the
correct tool in it bad things will happen. If someone is going to
purposely start in the middle of the program he should be aware enough
to have the correct tool in the spindle.
thanks
Stuart
